OOM Monitor Client API: Purpose

The purpose of the Out of Memory Monitor Client API (OOM Monitor Client API) is to:

enable applications to improve their performance when the amount of free RAM is small
enable applications safely allocate a large amount of RAM
enable applications to protect themselves from closing by the OOM Monitor
define the order of closing applications when necessary

Constraints

This API is available in N97 SDK and currently valid for only Symbian OS 9.4. platform.

This API is published in the Nokia N97 SDK. It is currently supported only in the Nokia N97 device.

This API is fully supported in the emulator environment of the Nokia N97 SDK.
