The Advanced Multimedia Supplements API (JSR-234) is implemented in Symbian devices that support Mobile Information Device Profile (MIDP) 2.0 - in Symbian platform, the Advanced Multimedia Supplements API (AMMS API) is supported from S60 3rd Edition, FP 1 onwards.
The API builds on the framework already established in the Mobile Media
API (MMAPI) (JSR-135)
adding many new Controls (in javax.microedition.amms.control and
subpackages). Besides new Controls, several new extensions
have also been added to the MMAPI framework (in javax.microedition.amms).
The AMMS API is supported in Symbian with clarifications detailed in the Advanced Multimedia Supplements API (JSR-234): Implementation notes. The API was introduced in S60 3rd Edition FP 1.
