Setting up the device

To set up a Symbian device for debugging:

  1. Connect the device to a computer. If you are using an S60 5th Edition or S60 3rd Edition FP2 SDK, the supported connection type is WLAN. From Symbian^3 onwards, the supported connection types are Bluetooth, USB, and WLAN. For more information about establishing a connection, see the SDK documentation.

  2. Install the EcmtAgent onto the device.

  3. Launch the EcmtAgent and select the appropriate connection type from Options > Settings > Bearer. Keep the EcmtAgent running on the device throughout the debugging session.
