The Advanced Multimedia Supplements API (JSR-234) is implemented in Series 40 devices that support Mobile Information Device Profile (MIDP) 2.0. The Advanced Multimedia Supplements API (AMMS API) is supported from Series 40 3rd Edition, Feature Pack 1 onwards.
The API builds on the framework already established in the Mobile
Media API (MMAPI) (JSR-135) adding many new Controls (in javax.microedition.amms.control and subpackages). Besides
new Controls, several new extensions have also
been added to the MMAPI framework (in javax.microedition.amms).
