Launcher icon

Nokia Asha software platform devices have a different specification for launcher icon compared to previous Series 40 platforms. The new Iconography specifications dictate that launcher icons should be square images of dimensions 50 x 50 pixels. Because of these specifications, icons taken from applications written for Series 40 are not rendered properly and need to be updated.

The developer needs to only provide the activity screen icon and ensure that the glyph is centered within a 30 x 30 pixels square. The same icon will automatically be used in the apps screen as a squircle. For more information see Nokia Asha Design Guidelines for Iconography.
