This section describes how a registration context is chosen for the request. A registration context is used to get the access point of the connection and the values of ‘From’ and ‘Contact’ headers (in some cases) for a request. The registration context here means a SIP profile (created by the SIP Settings Tool) or an own registration. A request can also be sent without the registration context. See section Sending request without using a registration context.
An own registration means that the REGISTER request is sent by a MIDlet. Registration by SIP Profile means that a sip stack sends the REGISTER request to the registrar server when SIP Profile is used.
