Loading and previewing content on the SDK standalone application overview

To check the appearance and function of your wireless content on the SDK, perform one of the following actions:

  • Open a local file using File > Open.

  • Open a URL using File > Open URL or by clicking the SDK keys to navigate to a website.

Note: You may have to set up a proxy server. See Setting up network access overview for more information.

Note: You can also use the Open URL command to open a file in your PC.

  • Open a recently used file or URL by selecting its name in the File menu.

Note: If you open a URL, you may have to set up a proxy server. See Setting up network access overview for more information.

  • Load content from a supporting application within an IDE. Adobe GoLive CS2 and Adobe Dreamweaverlet you display content on the SDK that you’ve developed with their editors. You can view the content by either clicking a button or making a menu selection in the application.

  • Use the device's web browser to access wireless content: select Menu > Web > Go to address and enter the web address.

Note: Series 40 6th Edition SDK Feature Pack 1 supports Internet Protocol version 4 (IPv4), while the actual Series 40 6th Edition devices also support Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6).
