Onc EcmtAgent.SIS
is installed to S60 device (see Installing EcmtAgent to an
S60 device), the Ecmt Server can be started.
Launch EcmtAgent from Main Menu>>Applications>>EcmtAgent. This opens the log view
To change the Bearer go to Options>>Settings>>Bearer. The available bearers are "Bluetooth"," WLAN" and" USB."
Note: Some connectivity methods may not be available in all devices. If the bearer is WLAN and the device is not connected to any WLAN then it displays error message as "Engine error -18".
In order to use Bluetooth as the connectivity method, make sure that a Bluetooth connection between the S60 device and your PC has been established before setting the method in EcmtAgent.
In order to use USB as the connectivity method, make sure that the USB cable is connected and the connection has been successfully established between the S60 device and your PC has been established before setting the method in EcmtAgent.
When using WLAN between an S60 device and a PC, make sure both are in same WLAN network.
There are two ways to connect the device with Wlan.
Connect the device to the availabe WLAN from Main Menu>>settings>>Connectivity.
Launch the EcmtAgent application from Main Menu>>Applications>>EcmtAgent. It will ask for Wlan connection. Select "yes", then it will search for Wlan.
If it displays error message as “Engine error -18” then device has not connected to any Wlan. Then exit from the application and connect from Main Menu>>settings>>Connectivity. After successful connection on log view it displays the IP address and port number to which it is listening.
To confirm the connectivity between the PC and the Device, from command prompt of the PC enter the following command: ping <IP Address of the device>
Now to establish the connectivity you need to enter the IP address and Port number in the Device Connectivity Tool on the PC.
Select Tools > WLAN Settings... from the menu bar:
Enter the IP of the S60 device in the Handset IP field and click OK:
Now that you have defined the connectivity method, you can start the Device Connectivity Tool on your PC.
