Install the MDS Plug-in

The MDS Plug-in is delivered as a self-extracting zip file. To install the MDS Plug-in:

1. Verify that the SDK emulator and SDK documentation browser are not running.

2. Extract the zip file to <S60installation_directory> (

   Note: When extracting the zip file, ensure that Use folder names is selected.

Once installed,

• MDS-related header files can be found under <S60installation_directory>\epoc32\include\.

  See "MDS related API changes" for more information on the MDS-related header files.

• Drive configuration scripts can be found under <S60installation_directory>\epoc32\tools\mds\.

  Once one of the multiple drive configurations has been enabled, the MDS support can be noticed in the emulator's File Manager application.

• An example application demonstrating MDS can be found under <S60installation_directory>\examples.

  To view the example application documentation, open <S60installation_directory>\examples\doc\index.html.

• The MDS Plug-in Help documentation (including the Multiple Drive Support User Guide and Multiple Drive Support Plug-in API Reference Guide) is viewable in the SDK Help. A PDF User guide and the Multiple Drive Support Plug-in Release Note are provided in <S60installation_directory>\S60doc\MDS.
