Setting the startup behaviors

You can change the startup behavior of the SDK. These settings (except for the memory card setting) take effect the next time you start a new instance of the SDK.

Changing the instance number suffix (telephone number) of the SDK

You can change the last two numbers of the SDK's instance number by entering the number in Phone number suffix under Preferences from the Tools menu.

For example, if you enter the number 2050 as Phone number suffix, the next SDK instance when started displays a phone number as 2050.

Analyzing content on the SDK

You can check the Start Diagnostics check box from the General tab of the Preferences window to activate the Diagnostics window. You can launch the Diagnostics window by selecting Tools > Diagnostics. The Diagnostics window displays the information that can help you analyze and troubleshoot the content on the SDK.

Note:

  • By default, the Start Diagnostics option is selected.

  • If you deselect the Start Diagnostics option, the Diagnostics option gets disabled from the next time you launch the Emulator. Therefore, you cannot launch the Diagnostics window by selecting Tools > Diagnostics. Disabling the Diagnostics window makes the SDK start faster. For more information, see Using the Diagnostics window.

  • If the Start Diagnostics is deselected, you can select it to enable the Diagnostics option.
