Getting started

This section shows you how to setup the Java™ ME development environment and create a simple HelloWorld MIDlet for Series 40 and Symbian devices. The section contains instructions for creating the MIDlet in Eclipse and NetBeans.

To create the HelloWorld MIDlet:

1. Set up the Java ME development environment

2. Create the MIDlet in the IDE:

   • Eclipse

   • NetBeans

3. Deploy the MIDlet to a device

After you have created and deployed the HelloWorld MIDlet, take a look at further developer resources provided by the Java Developer's Library.
