Once an environment has been created, products have been added and connections created, the environment can be started. Environment start-up is performed by
Clicking the toolbar icon or
Selecting File | Start Environment from the menu bar.
Products are started by default in environment start-up. However, it can be selected instance-specifically from the View and Modify Product Properties (4.1.3 View and Modify Product Properties) that a product is not started in the environment start-up. In that case products have to be started individually.
An environment can be started also without products and their connections. If products are added afterwards, they need to be started individually. To start a product separately:
Right-click the product and select from the opened menu Start Product or
Select the product in the environment pane and then File | Start Product from the menu bar
When the environment starts, the running state of the environment is displayed:
In the toolbar, the Start Environment button is disabled
The Stop Environment button is enabled
In environment pane 'Running' -text appears above each started product
Products are started to the user’s screen
Start-up information is logged
