The following IDEs are supported by the SDK for Java development:
Eclipse 3.2 (or newer)
EclipseME version 1.7.7 (or newer)

SDK integration with Eclipse
Install S60 SDK on the target device.
Install eclipse 3.2.2 or latest and eclipseme 1.7.7 or latest.
Start eclipse on the target device
Eclipse go to windows menu >> preference >> J2ME >> device management.
Click on the import button.
Browse the location where Nokia S60 SDK emulator is installed.
Click on the refresh button.
Two instances by name S60Device and S60Emulator will be visible.
Check S60Emulator -> Click Apply and Ok.
Sun NetBeans IDE with Mobility Pack 5.5 (or newer)

SDK integration with NetBeans
Install S60SDk on the target device.
Install Netbeans 5.5 or later and NetbeansMobilityPack 5.5 or later.
Go to Tools Menu Bar >> Java Platform Manager >> Add platform.
Check Java Micro edition Platform Emulator click the Next Button.
You will find Add Java platform window.
Click on Find more Java ME Platform
Folder and browse to the root folder were S60 Emulator is installed.
Click on the OK button and finish.

Note: S60 3rd Edition SDK for Symbian OS, Feature Pack 2 v1.1 supports usage of Sun's Universal Emulator Interface (UEI) interfaces (OTA and D-flags are not supported by the SDK). Consequently, you can use any IDE supporting the UEI together with the S60 SDK to develop Java MIDP applications.
