This section describes how you can begin to use NCF:
Installation: NCF 1.3 is installed by default with the Nokia SDK 1.1 for Java. You can download the SDK 1.1 from the Nokia Developer pages at http://www.developer.nokia.com and follow the installation guide to install the SDK.
Starting the NCF: Start > Programs> Nokia Developer Tools > Nokia Connectivity Framework> Nokia Connectivity Framework Full.
Autodetection: When NCF is started for the first time some products and applications are displayed in the structure. The products that appear to the product structure in NCF start-up are the autodetected products. They are automatically detected to be integrated and installed by NCF autodetection functionality. You can start working with those autodetected products that are already integrated and installed. For more information, referAutodetection .
Adding new products using the integration wizard: If you want to use some other products other than the autodetected products in NCF start-up, you can add or integrate products separately. New integrations are created by the integration wizard, referAdding New Products With Integration Wizard. The products, which are not autodetectable but have got a ready-made integration, are added as it is described in Add Ready-made Product Integration. You may download Nokia products from the Developer Nokia pages. You may also install other products or develop products that can communicate with NCF. All products should be installed according to their installation instructions. Ensure that the product’s home directory in the product properties is same as the directory where you installed the product. Configure the home directory if needed.
Creating the environment: Once you have products in the product structure, Create Environment is an appropriate action to start NCF usage. You can continue to follow other actions of Environment Management when a new environment is created. .
Adding applications: To optimize the NCF features you can add applications which you can use with products. New applications can be dragged to the product structure from the file system or by Add Application functionality in the NCF user interface.
